India Travel Itinerary

Day 01: Arrive in Delhi
On arrival at New Delhi Airport you will be met by our representative and transferred to your hotel in Delhi for check-in. Overnight in Delhi

Day 02: Delhi to Amritsar Train
Early morning transfer to Delhi Railway station to board the Amritsar Shatabdi (Train Timing: DEP: 0720 ARR: 1325). Delhi Amritsar distance is 450kms. Travel time Delhi Amritsar (on-road): 8 hrs.
AMRITSAR: Known for the Golden Temple and in the north-western state of Punjab; it is home to the majority of India’s Sikh community.
On arrival, check-in to your hotel in Amritsar for fresh-up. Afternoon, drive to the Indo-Pak border to witness the Wagah Border closing ceremony

Day 03: Amritsar sightseeing & Drive Amritsar to Pragpur in Kangra Valley (175kms & 4hrs. journey)
This morning visit the beautiful & sacred Golden Temple with a local tour guide. What you notice about the temple is how beautiful it stands in the sacred pool of water. Despite the crowds present, there is an unmistakable calm & serene environment in the temple complex.
Other places to visit in Amritsar: Jallianwalah Bagh, a martyr memorial and the Maharaja Ranjit Singh Museum in the lovely Ram Bagh. The museum displays historic arms & armory, paintings, old coins and manuscripts.
Afternoon, drive to Pragpur to check-in to an old colonial residence set in rural atmosphere restored by its owners; the homestead has beautiful grounds with its own attractive gardens with over 100 species of birds to be seen. Overnight stay at Pragpur.

Day 04: Drive Pragpur to Dharamshala (130kms & 2 hrs journey)
After check-out from hotel, go on a trip to the remains of Kangra Fort, an oldest dated and largest fort in the Himalaya. Drive to a heritage-style country home on the outskirts of Dharamshala for your stay at Dharamshala. Relax at this heritage home by taking a cookery demonstration of chutneys & preserves arranged by your hosts. Go on an eco-tour and learn about Ayurvedic plants and herbs, pick strawberries and peaches, watch cows being milked and other special experiences. Enjoy the spectacular experience of Himalayas during your stay.

Day 05: Dharamshala Sightseeing
Spend the day sightseeing. Places to visit in Dharamshala - Visits to Bhagsunath Temple, St. John’s Church, Nechung Monastery. Take a walk at the Tsuglagkhang Complex (Residence of the Dalai Lama) which also houses the Tibet Museum and the Namyong Monastery. Afternoon visit the Norbulingka Institute, a place where they keep the Tibetan Culture & Values alive; visit the workshop where you observe artisans practicing traditional arts such as wood carving, sculpture designing and Thangka painting.

Day 06: Drive Dharamshala to Kullu (220kms. & 6 hrs. Journey time)
Morning drive from Dharamshala to Kullu (Manali). Enroute stop at the Palampur Tea Gardens and Baijnath temple (constructed in 1204 AD). As you continue your drive enjoy the view of River Beas flowing along with you to Kullu; also enjoy the view of orchards, fields and village houses in the Himalayas. On arrival, check-into you riverside cottage, a home in the lap of nature

Day 07: Excursion to Naggar
This morning drive to Naggar, a serene village along the hills of east bank of River Beas. Visit the 450 year old Naggar Castle (now a Tourist Hotel run by the State Tourism Dept). As you stroll up the hill of Naggar village you explore the old wood and stone built - Krishna temple, dating back to 15th century; also visit the Roerich Art gallery that has on display some oil paintings and a 1930’s Dodge vintage car. Overnight at Kullu

Day 08: Excursion to Rohtang Pass
Set off for an early morning excursion and travel to one of the world’s highest motor able road - Rohtang Pass.
For those who are no stranger to the experience of snow might wonder, why we'd bother going to Rohtang just to look at some snow; then the reason is simple - Rohtang Pass is about mountain views, not about snow. From the Pass you look at two different worlds, to the south is - lush green surroundings that are ever inviting and to the north you see a series of rising icy peaks as far as your vision goes.
After lunch, visit the 400 year old Hadimba Temple built in distinctive pagoda-style architecture amidst an ancient pine forest. If weather and time permits, you can experience the thrill of white water river rafting at the chilling waters of River Beas. Overnight at Kullu

Day 09: Enjoy Trekking, Trout Fishing or Mountain Biking at the resort
Spend the day relaxing at the resort. Enjoy the experience of fishing for some brown Trout’s in the adjoining River Beas which is ten steps from your villa, or go a long mountain biking trip with a picnic lunch organized just for you. You could also go on an outdoor trekking and hiking trail with an accompanied guide to the Great Himalayan National Park. Overnight at Kullu

Day 10: Drive Kullu to Shoja (70kms & 2 hrs. journey time)
After the morning breakfast, drive from Kullu to Shoja passing through the Tirthan Valley. Diverging from the National Highway at Aut, Shoja is just 5 kms away from the picturesque Jalori Pass. On arrival check-in to your cottage, a solid cedar wood house surrounded by thick forests.
After lunch, go on a 6km/3hr. hike to Raghupur Fort; the journey takes you through beautiful forests terminating at lush green meadows. As you reach on top of the ridge, you are treated to a 360 degree view of the surrounding snow clad mountains. On your return, you can detour through the Waterfall point.
At evening enjoy a bonfire and a Barbeque dinner.

Day 11: Tours of Himalayas at Shoja
This morning go on a hike (09kms/4hrs) passing through thick oak forests to Serolsar Lake. The hike starts from the Jalori Pass, from where from a well-defined trail leads to the lake. Enjoy a packed lunch meal on the banks of the clear lake.

Day 12: Drive from Shoja to Shimla (150kms & 5hrs.journey)
Drive Shoja to Simla, a hill station and city located on forested slopes. This once used to be the Summer capital of the British Empire. The imposing Colonial structures that still dot Shimla bear testimony of the pre-independence British rule in India

Day 13: Tour of Shimla
You can take a Tour of Simla by visiting The Ridge, an open space in the heart of the town that provides excellent view of the mountain ranges; the Jakhu Hill Temple, State Museum and the Indian Institute of Advanced Study (formerly the Viceregal Lodge). Afternoon at leisure to explore the markets

Day 14: Train Shimla to Delhi
Morning transfer to the Shimla Railway Station to board the Toy Train Shimla to Kalka (Train journey: 5 hrs); during the journey enjoy breathtaking views of the hills & villages surrounding. On arrival at Kalka Railway station, board the connecting Shatabdi Express to Delhi. Overnight stay in Delhi

Day 15: Departure Delhi International Airport
